Shipped
Clans
v1.10.0Found a clan, invite up to nine champions and make their wins count for the banner.
Pack tiers
v1.9.0Three packs, Standard, Advanced and Premium, with different BP prices and different odds, all published.
Dated packs
v1.8.0The odds page has a version and a date; any price or odds change is announced there an hour before it applies.
Live arenas
v1.7.0When 4 players are online, an arena opens: four champions, a quick bracket, and a free pack for the winner of a full arena (once a day per account).
Level gifts
v1.6.0The first 100 accounts to reach level 15 get a free pack, and the first 100 to reach level 20 get a prestige blueprint. The count is live on this page.
A reason to come back tomorrow
v1.5.0Your first win says what tomorrow holds, daily quests show on the ladder, and at level 5 rivals appear in the arena.
Build a champion without an account
v1.4.1Lineage, class, skills and points, before you sign up.
Livelier fights
v1.3.7Blows land and the log keeps pace with the stage.

Every champion arrives equipped
v1.3.1Every new champion starts with a weapon, armor and a ring for its class. The kit stays with that champion; it cannot be sold or traded.
The daily duel and the Gauntlet are playable
v1.2.1Today's duel and the Gauntlet are open. The Gauntlet is played stage by stage, one run a week, and both modes use the current item catalog.
The Channeler hits with its Spirit
v1.2.0Attunement gives Spirit a use in a fight. Every daily duel can be won. The balance in the live game is the balance we measured before shipping it.
The logo holds still
v1.1.0The logo no longer moves with the page; it sits still above the menu. While a section loads you see the mark. Packs open with their seal breaking.
The PvP daily digest, in your language
v0.120.0The email about the defenses your champion fought while you were away now arrives in the language you chose, with the Duelsmith logo. If you unsubscribe, the page confirms it worked.
The medal case
v0.119.0The medal case shows every medal, not just the ones you have won, and each one says how to earn it.
Duelsmith has a face now
v0.118.0An anvil with two crossed swords over the fire. You will see it in your browser tab and whenever you share a link to the game.
Your champion, standing in their arena
v0.117.0The champion page shows the background, the sprite with the weapon and armour it carries, the frame and the name colour. Below that is the build, laid out so you can study it.
See your rival's build
v0.116.0You can see a rival's full build; studying it is the point. Their plan, what the champion decides to do in a fight, stays hidden until you fight them.
We give a cosmetic back
v0.115.0If we return a cosmetic that had been taken away, we put it back on for you. If you have equipped something else since, we leave your choice and tell you it is back.
Boosters are tracked per purchase
v0.114.0If a booster purchase is reversed, only the unused days from that purchase are removed. Days you have already used stay counted.
Fights have a place now
v0.113.0Fights now have eight backgrounds. Four are bought in the store. Three belong to your race and are unlocked by finishing Arc I; those are not in the store. In PvP you fight on the defender's background.
Skins for your gear
v0.112.0Epic and legendary items can wear an ember or frost look. A skin changes how the item looks and nothing else.
Endgame modes
v0.111.0Two new modes: a weekly Gauntlet whose rule changes each week, and a daily duel where everyone gets the same fight. Both award medals, and neither costs anything.
The landing shows the fight
v0.110.0The public page now shows a real duel instead of describing one. Two champions fight on a loop from a seed printed under the replay, so you can reproduce that exact fight yourself. With reduced motion on, it stays still.
Fights outlive the people in them
v0.109.0When someone deletes their account, their duels stay: both builds and the result are kept, and only the name is removed. Shared replay links keep working, and they now unfurl with a card showing both champions and who won.
Search the board
v0.108.0The black market can be filtered by item, gem and minimum rarity, and it searches both halves of a listing: who is offering it and who is looking for it. The board loads more as you scroll.
The black market
v0.107.0Trade equipment and gems with other players. You post what you have spare and what kind of thing you want for it, and whoever holds that can take the deal. There is no currency in a trade: no BP changes hands, there is no bidding and no price. Catalysts and essence cannot be listed either.
The path does not end
v0.106.0After the last canto the path keeps going: every 80 deeds it loops and pays out a material pack. The pack is almost always dust, and a little more than one loop in four gives a gem. It never contains catalysts or essence, so it does not shorten the climb to +9 or +10.
Casters learn faster
v0.105.0Mage and Channeler get a damage boost while levelling. It is large early on and shrinks to exactly zero at level 20. On the ladder's fourth rung, the gap between the best-off class and the worst-off went from 24 points to 5. At high levels the Mage is still behind; that is for the next design arc.
Gear that actually does something
v0.104.0Several affixes on Mage and Channeler items did nothing. We measured it: removing them changed not one duel. That budget is armor now, and both casters gain between 8 and 18 points depending on level. The Rogue trades some evasion for real armor and still hits fast and folds fast. One more fix: if an item pushed your armor below zero, you used to take 25% more damage. That was a bug on our side and it is fixed.
Every class fights differently
v0.103.0Warrior and Rogue no longer hit the same way twice. Their skills read the fight: the pain you have taken, the riposte window, the statuses you chain. Every class now starts with a hand-authored spread of skill points that you can change whenever you like. Between levels 14 and 17 the gap between the strongest and weakest class narrows sharply. Mage and Channeler come in the next design arc: their axes work, but they lift the classes that are already ahead, so they are being redesigned with what we learned.
A record of what you spend
v0.102.0Every time you spend something (forging, reforging, milling, trading BP for materials) a line is recorded with the date, the amount and the item. What the game hands you is recorded the same way. There is no screen for it yet; for now it is an internal tool, so we can answer your questions with data. If you delete your account, those lines are anonymised.
The store says what is true
v0.101.0The store now says, in plain words, that rank and season rewards cannot be bought and that everything else costs BP. The material pack lists its own contents: 20 essence, 60–180 dust, 2 gems guaranteed, and an 8.4% chance of a catalyst.
Fighting pays now
v0.100.0Ladder wins now drop material packs with dust, essence and punches for forging. Grey fights drop nothing.
The forge, at the door
v0.99.0The front page now explains the forge: the three forge bands, what each costs, and the real history of a weapon that reached +9, including the fall. The numbers are read from the game, so if the forge changes, that page changes with it.
Nothing gets destroyed
v0.98.0The forge no longer destroys items, at any level. If an attempt fails, the item drops one level and loses what that level gave it, but you keep the item. Risk starts at +5. Protection prevents the drop up to +8; at +9 and +10 there is no protection.
The forge remembers
v0.97.0Every forge level rolls: several of the item's existing stats go up, and no level gives nothing. The item keeps what each level gave it, so two +7s are not the same item, and you can see why.
The skill growth ladder
v0.96.0Every skill now shows its growth ladder: how much damage it deals at each level of investment, with your current point marked, what the next one would buy, and the breakpoint drawn where it fires.
Less housekeeping
v0.95.0What you earn is not lost because you slept, you can select several items at once to mill, and the theorycraft tools are free for everyone.
Fewer dead ends
v0.94.0Every screen that used to leave you stuck now offers the next step: attack from the leaderboard, exit a pack into your stash, see how an item is obtained, and test builds against real opponents.
Trust in the cube
v0.92.0Protect an item so nothing can destroy it, see what you risk before forging, and compare before and after on every reforge.
Buy a skin and actually find it
v0.91.0The bell takes you straight to the item with an apply button, and the store tells you before you pay that you apply the look yourself.
Your gear, with its own sprite
v0.90.0When you apply an aspect and that combination has no sprite yet, the game generates one and it shows up in combat.
Your purchases, always at hand
v0.89.0One page lists everything you bought and its status. It works even when the store is closed.
The bar tells you when
v0.88.0See what time your stamina refills, and the first-steps list folds away instead of vanishing.

The more people play and support the game, the faster it improves. Rank and season rewards are not sold and cannot be traded; you earn them by playing. Everything else in the store costs BP, and BP can be bought with money. Players also trade equipment and gems with each other in the black market. Money can buy time — never the outcome.
